Parking garage Rijswijk
Facade design
The client wanted to build a prefab concrete parking garage in four layers. We have upgraded this façade with a series of coloured glass panels. Since it is a split-level garage, this leap of half a floor strongly determines the appearance of the parking on the sides. The new façade wraps the building volume as if there is no split level and improves visibility. At the rear of the garage, it connects to a green farmhouse where a hotel is located. Because of this, we have fixed the glass panels to the façade as leaves.
Colour design
Because of the coupling to the trees at the back, the green colour is created by a screen-printed technique (BRS) on laminated glass.
By using two widths and two colours of green and placing them in two layers, it was possible to realise four colours. The natural light does the rest.
